If Omar Bin khattab (RD) was with us, what would have
been his reaction on 28 Feb and 6th of May? Most probably he would
have run for his sword and chopped the head off the perpetrators. And this is
true of him, for the man never gave a second thought to crime and injustice. In
modern Bangladesh, we had a man (but not anyway comparable to companion of the
prophet (SM) as they were the best of men) by the name Major Farouque, when he
had seen injustice, he did not delegate the job to others, but took action
himself and reportedly had said to his colleagues,” you are either with me or
without me, but I have decided on the action, even if you decide not to come”
and that man had done what others would have been too scared to do. He was true
to his word, where others would have faltered on the mission.
Now, here is an example of a man, when he saw injustice,
he left it to others and gave himself up to the Pakistani army for safe keeping
in a prison in West Pakistan until his fellow country men kick them out with
their blood. Do you we know him? Of course we do, they say he is the best in
thousand years, but was he?
And finally, coming to the present, we have a man who
does nothing, but courts Sheikh Hasina and India ,
while in the midst of his luxury army life, indiscriminate killings and carnage
took place on 28th Feb and 6th of May. Unlike Major
Farouque, he keeps his sword in sheath and goes for honey moon in India with
his wife. What adjective can I give this man other than a fitting word “Coward”
and that may be the best way to describe him?
