Bangladesh opposition cannot allow another massacre to happen or another deadline to past without results.

Awamileague is always in the habit of misleading people, as if they are born with this trait. In course of history many nation, many people and individual realizes their mistakes, accept what is truth and what is falsehood, tries to reform themselves and become a better nation, better party or better individuals , but for Awamileague, they are  so inherently attached to bad traits that one gets the impression that they are an ideological mistake. Something good was intended with the formation of Awamileague. It used to be called Awami Muslim league, or Peoples Muslim league, but mistakenly it mutated to a cancerous irreversible monster to ‘Awamileague’ adopting the secular ideology. In the long term the prognosis for this monster doesn’t look good.

Recently, we are hearing a lot about 24th of October, when according to constitution this government terms end, but government will remain in power with all its instruments of executive powers to run the country. It can order arrest, order to shoot, or go in to war. So, it looks as if, in reality, only a theoretical end will happen, but in practice ministers will remain in power. So what’s the big deal that the opposition is making noise about? I think it’s to do with moral basis of exercising power, as this would give the civil administration that are not Awamilicised an excuse to argue against their moral obligation to obey the government, because the mandate of the people given to the government to rule officially ends on 24th October. This explains why BNP thinks that civil and police administration will not act on orders of the government to arrest and kill people when they start their agitation to force the government to comply with the demand of the people. We will have to wait until after 24th October to see what position the civil and police administration takes.

Meanwhile, I have doubts about BNP’s plan to unseat the government by force. Making war noises and giving statements and attending meeting and rallies is one thing, but to unseat the government, or force Sheikh Hasina to accept the demand of the opposition for a caretaker government will take a lot more than rallies and speeches. Some practical planning must be done to counter government suppression and killings and illegal arrests by their partisan army of police, RAB and BGB. Awamileague has made it clear that they plan to foil the opposition agitation by force; they even have threatened to kill and arrest anyone trying to press them in to submission. So either a lot of people are ready to die for no results, or people will die and get results, or no people dies but gets results. All these scenario needs to be planned with practical solutions. And I doubt if they have ever contemplated about this.

State Minister Kamrul Islam said today that comes 24th October, streets of Dhaka will be empty of BNP; he made it a point to say that an empty vessel makes a lot of noises. And he may not be wrong unless BNP supporters prove otherwise. We have seen in the past how Begum Zia gave deadlines, but it came and went causing no pain to the government, instead a lot of innocent Hifazot protesters died in Shapla Chottor with impunity, and subsequently Hifazot received a lot of mockery from Black Cat thief, the former Rail Minister Suronjit Shen. We can not allow another massacre to take place, or another deadline to past without results.

It is true that if anyone wants to find about their political popularity or how much people like them, they need to relinquish power and present themselves to the public. Power is a barrier to understanding the true feelings of people, because either people are too afraid to make it known or leaders are kept shielded from criticism by those instruments around them. Sheikh Hasina’s advice to Hanif is an example to test ones popularity, but As BNP’s intellectual Shafique Rahman rightly pointed out in a meeting today, she herself should have applied this notion to check her popularity by giving up power to a non partisan election time government.

Mr Shafique knows the power of authority, especially the Gopalish (Police from Sheikh Hasina’s home town Gopal) No one would dare speak against Hasina as long as she controls Gopalish, and the Gopalish judiciary. He told his audience at a meeting today who were contemplating on bringing Tareq Zia home, that if they want to see Tareq Zia arrested by Gopalish, or have some of his remaining bone broken, then they should advice him to come. If that is the situation in Bangladesh, then how on earth BNP is going to make any meaningful challenge to the government without having any plan to counter Gopalish police by arms or other means.

Awamileague has made black law for cyber crime especially to suppress the opposition and to give Gopalish Police their human game to increase torture on the opposition. A lot of new torture weapons have recently been imported by Lady Hitler for her Gopalish recruits. The Romans used to have game arena for enjoyment. Human captives were rocketed in to the arena with full of lions for games of killings, now modern Bangladesh has made Arena for torture and enjoyment for the maniac Gopalish police with the passing of the black law. Mighty Romans couldn’t survive tyranny, they capitulated at the end, and so would Hasina yield to nothingness if BNP and people of Bangladesh makes a stand against her tyranny.

I have been hearing a lot about flow of illegal arms through the border of Bangladesh. The underworld is buzzing with accumulating killer weapons. Is this hyped up news to bring fear to the mind of those in power? If BNP strategist thinks they can fool Awamileague with empty threats then their vessels are indeed empty. Awamileague leaders will only respond to tangible threats, and I can assure you that like historical fate of other fascist leaders of Bangladesh, if they go, not a single cry will be shed for them. In homeopathy medicine, they say like cures like, so the opposition must get ready to apply homeopathic medicine to cure Awamileague cancer that has griped Bangladesh for too long.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is adamant to destroy the world most beautiful mangrove forest for making Indian Company happy

The government of Sheikh Hasina is adamant to construct coal based power station in Rampal near Sundarban. Without considering a wide and devastating consequences for the environment and natural habitat of Royal Bengal Tiger and other rare spices that are found solely in Sundarban.

There are many reasons why people of Bangladesh are unease with Rampal coal based power station.  Among them the serious concern are the absent of government adhering to national and international law before making a decision , imbalance agreement that are counter to interest of Bangladesh, and  location of the power station that can have calamitous impact on Sundarban. It is also world’s largest mangrove forest and a UNESCO world’s heritage site.

For establishing this 1320 Megawatt power plant, Bangladesh will need to import about 4.72 million tons of coal each year. This massive freight will need about 59 ships each having an 80,000 ton capacity that take to the port which is 40 Kilometres away from the plant and its route cuts through the Sundarbans.

As coal based power plant creates serious environmental pollution, no country in the world usually gives permission to set up large coal based power plant within 20 to 25 km distance of forest, agricultural land and residential area.

The Indian company, NTPC, with whom Bangladesh has made the agreement to produce 1320 Megawatts electricity, has terms and condition which are vague, unequal and not favourable to National interest of Bangladesh. According to the agreement the Indian company will only invest 15 percent of capital but will have operational rights of 50 percent. They are exempted from paying tax, Bangladesh government has to take loan from them and above all, the price of electricity produced is not settled or fixed. All this flaws and vagueness in contract will be advantageous for the Indian company and not for Bangladesh.

According to national and international law, a power station on that scale that is to be built in Rampal and near Sandarban has to go through strict environmental impact assessment before any agreement is done. Clearly this did not take place. In fact we have seen long before any legal process is followed, the government started acquiring land for the project, and other private companies are now busy in acquiring land in the vicinity of Sandarban which can only endanger the existence of Sundarban, as it might become a commercial centre for other environmentally unfriendly activities that may destroy this complex ecosystem comprising one of the three largest single tracts of mangrove forests of the world.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh already have unveiled the foundation plaque for Rampal power plant in spite of growing public concern that the coal-fired plant, only 14 km off the Sundarbans, may bring on a disaster for the world’s largest mangrove forest.

Environmentalists, socio-political organizations, and political parties, including the main opposition BNP, have been opposing the government’s plan to set up the plant at Rampal of Bagerhat, 14 kilometres away from the Sundarbans.

Bangladesh government of Sheikh Hasina is hell bent on damaging our countries most beautiful landscape without due consideration to our countries long term interest. This project must stop not only for the impact on environment but also for greatly unequal contract with the Indian company to the lose of Bangladesh

Gadanik imports Haider Faruq to malign Jamat.

Ok, so we hearing that Allama Madudi’s son Faruque Maududi is busy slandering his father’s party Jamati Islam. And he is probably teaming up with Gadanik to expose the real truth about Jamat. Well, there’s nothing new about him. I have read a pamphlet by Shariar Kabir long back one year ago when Gadanik Leader Shariar Kabir came to the UK to lobby Lord Avery of  House of Lords. Apparently he used this propaganda leaflets to convince Lord Avery that Maududis own son disown him to be worthy of any credit, That Jamati Islam ideological founder had got everything wrong about Islam and his party is basically a divisive terrorist and heretic Islamic party. By this time many Jamat supporters will probably be thinking, Ya Allah! Now what? We are damned! Our enemy’s are going to tear us in to pieces. Well not quiet, now let me ask you a question: what criterion is used to verify truth from falsehood?  Is it a statement of a son, or a wife, or truth itself verifies the truth?

If the criterion of good and bad is based on what comes out from the mouth of ones son, or wife, or uncle than we have a problem. In that case our religion would be in doubt. This man, Haider is only a son of Madudi, not a son of prophet. Even Son of Prophet NOAH, the Wife of LOOT, and Abu Lahab, the UNCLE of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) they all had been misguided, NOSHTO family members. Did that make their message null and void?  Absolutely not. Their misguided family members all had doubts, they all had their reasons to be twisted and they all disobeyed and opposed what came out of their kin and kindred’s mouth.

Now you probably want to know why Maududi’s own son has become his father’s sworn enemy number one. Here is the reason: During the life time of Allama Maududi, Haider Faruq and another son of Maududi developed bad practices and twisted believes. Maududi tried hard to reform them but they were too insolent to the point that Allama Maududi, by legal process of the court had to disown his two sons’ from all his fixed and floating assets. Basically, what we call ‘TEZZO PUTRO KORE DEWA’ Now, having received a lot of money from Gadanik, Haider Faruq couldn’t care what he says about his father, as he believes that he has nothing to loose other than make some money from chicken farmer GADANIK leader Shariar Kabir. So, in reality, it is a waste of money for Gadanik, and some profits for Haider for now, but the real reward for slandering his father, he may receive it in the hereafter.

Just a point to note hear is that chicken farmer Shariar Kabir at one time during the liberation war of Bangladesh, had been the supplier of chicken to the Pakistani occupation Army. Though now, he claims to be the leader of Gathok Dalal Nirmul Committee, a pressure group formed by some individual from different background to force the government to punish those who collaborated with the Pakistani Army. So he is trying his hard to malign Jamat in any way he can.

Maulana Maududi is not Islam. He did not invent Islam or received any god given message. He was one the greatest islamic thinkers of our time. He was a reviver. Whos main aim was Iqmate deen. He has written great books against scocialism, secularism , explained the islamic political, social justice and economic system of islam. His first book was Jihad fil islam. He was one of the few ulema who made it clear to the public that islam was Deen (Way of life) not just a madhab as most poeple belive islam is.  His works have inspired many to become muslim or return to the deen of allah. What Allama Maududi did, was to revive the concept of Islamic politics in Indian subcontinent, which always had been intrinsic to Islam since the birth of Islam. Islam is not only about going to mosque, praying five times a day, giving charity, performing Hajj, but it involves implementing Islam in our personal, social, civil, and state affairs. Prophet Muhammad implemented a government based on Islam from Madina. His disciples Omar (RD) ruled by Islam almost half the known world at that time.

Jamat supporters are not blind followers unlike others. They do not follow Maududi. They will only follow their leaders as long as their leaders don’t contradict or goes against Quran and Sunnah. In fact, Jamat supporters follow the spirit of Islam, the spirit of establishing Allah’s deen on the face of earth. Their striving and struggling is only for the sake of Allah and not for any leaders. Leaders may come and go, but the message of Islam will always remain.

So when they say ‘Politics in the name of Islam is not allowed’ what are they talking about? Rather their mind is confused. No, their mind is not confused, they precisely know what Islam is about, but they won’t accept it, because their Nafs (Soul) tells them to go after Dunia (World) and their Qareen, the Shaitan companion turns them away from the truth of Islam and they think they are guided, but in reality, they are far from the truth.

The import of Haider Maudi and the slandering of Jamat is part of government attempt to divide and rule. They want to entice people into disunity, especially seeing that Hefazote Islam has joined with the opposition, and they want to create some distance between Jamat and other Islamic party’s. But at the end, day by day, all their plots are untying and eventually this fascist government will fall, Insha Allah.

War crimes Tribunal is nothing more than Politics at play. We need to look at the distance past to understand the present. ( Part Three )

Sheikh Hasina and her current government is a democratically elected fascist party in power. Like her father, not only she has a problem accepting other party or other opinion, but she wants to finish them altogether. For this reason, Delwar Hussain Sayeedi and many top leaders of Bangladesh Jamati Islam have been targeted to face war crimes. The truth is, Sheikh Hasina has brought up the issue of war crimes to discredit Jamat and Jamat leaders and to suppress Islamic politics.

The difference between a dictator and a fascist is that, behind fascism there can be public support. Fascist can win election and they can be made lawful by election. Ideological thinking and concept of Fascism can become popular. Fascism spreads from one popular or emotional issue such as the spirit of independence, or war crimes, but fascism does not only stop at disrespecting or valuing other people opinion but it strives actively to finish them.

War crimes Tribunal is an instrument used by Sheikh Hasina to finish her opponent. It goes without saying that the architect of Bangladesh Sheikh Mujibur Rahman thought it fit to wipe the slate clean of all conflicts, adversities and contradictions that cropped up during the liberation war by declaring the general amnesty. By virtue of the general amnesty, those accused or convicted for minor crimes under the Act were all set free.

We can firmly state, no Jamaat leaders against whom charges have been framed, accusing them of serious war crimes, were not even indicted under the Collaborators Act of 1972. Nor was any of Jamat leaders included in the list of 195 war criminals identified by the-then Bangladesh Government through proper enquiry. How could they be accused of war crimes when they did not take part in the war at all?

According to the amended Representation of the People Order, a war criminal is debarred from candidature in general elections. Had Jamat leaders been implicated in war crimes, they would not have been allowed to take part in the last general elections in 2008. They obtained huge voter endorsement. This could not have happened if they were involved in any serious offence like war crime.

The people of Bangladesh are not against trial of the persons who are responsible for violation of international criminal laws during the liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971. But such prosecution must be based upon international standards of fair trial, both in the identification of accused and the conduct of the investigation and trial.

In spite of no historical record implicating Jamat leaders to war crimes, surprisingly, the overwhelming majority that are facing war crime charges are from the senior leadership of Bangladeshi Jamati Islam. That itself puts the real motive of the Tribunal in to question. It defies any logic based on the above reason.

With the Jamat top leaders in Jail, the Tribunal Judges were handpicked ensuring only those having loyalty to Awamileague were selected. Investigators, prosecutors and the Government colluded to buy witnesses by means of coercion and payment of money. It was reported by a source that Piroj Pur Awami MP had paid 5 laks Taka to buy a witness against Maulana Delwar Hussain Sayeedi. Where they couldn’t buy with money, they would threaten the prospective witness with abduction or killings. In this way, they amassed their evidence against Jamat leaders.

In the process of all this, the government continued to arrest, file false cases against other Jamat leaders and activists so that the party wouldn’t be able to function its normal political role. The government even closed all their district and regional offices. But in spite of more than 40000 Jamats activists having been put to jail, the party continued to function as a force to be reckon with. This created a dilemma for Sheikh Hasina, as she wasn’t sure how she would control public opinion if a death verdict was announced So before Abdul Kader Mollah’s verdict, Sheikh Hasina came up with another plan to foil any mass uprising after the verdict. Her Indian Masters with the help of the leftist designed Egyptian Tahrir like Shabag protest. The idea was to give a life sentence and then Shabag would come in to play in dismay and demand death sentence for all those accused.

What followed was a change in law that gave the government the right to appeal against Abdul Kader Mollah’s life sentence for a death verdict. This kind of law is unprecedented in the history of Bangladeshi judiciary. But Bangladeshi judiciary had already been made in to a ‘yes sir’ judiciary by giving political appointment to the judges. Every decision that related to ICT or political party came at the dictate of the government, most specifically from the Prime Minister. Abdul Kaders Mollah’s death verdict, as well as Delwar Hussain Sayeedi’s, and most recently Salauddin Kader Chowdhury’s, sentence came from the law ministry and have been marred with controversy, scandal and serious allegations.

At least four major scandals had happened in relation to ICT. If this had happened in any other country, the tribunal would have been dissolved pending impartial investigations. But Awamileague is a party whose leadership had already made the decisions to commit murder.

What is also clear from number of recent disclosures by the international community and the media is the overwhelming evidence that reveals serious judicial and prosecutorial misconduct and the collusion of the Government with members of the judiciary and prosecution to bring about desired result by convicting and executing leading members of the opposition.

The government of Bangladesh is not listening to any international human rights organization concern about the partiality of the Tribunal and maintaining an international standard, although media reports have documented witnesses for the defence abducted from the court yard of the Tribunal at the dictates of the government.

Recently, a retrospective judgment has been given to one of the leaders of the opposition Mr.Abdul Kader Mollah by the appellate Division. He has been sentenced to death without a right to review. Indeed, serious abuses of process have been allowed to pass unchecked. By way of example, judges were removed and replaced by the Government in the midst of a trial. Further, the integrity and independence of the judges have been seriously undermined by a report published by the international media in December last year alleging serious judicial misconduct bordering on a criminal conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. The economists had published ‘Skype recordings’ which showed collusion between judges, prosecution and the government to convict the accused.

International human rights organizations, United Nations, foreign dignitaries, government of other countries and member of British House of lords have voiced their concern demanding the need to stop the Trial pending investigations, but so far it has fallen on deaf ears. It is a travesty of justice; it is all about politics at play, and a paranoid Sheikh Hasina’s revenge on the members of the opposition party, especially Bangladeshi Jamati Islam.

Lord Carlile QC, the Vice-Chair of UK Parliament's All Party Parliamentary Group on Genocide and Crimes against Humanity, accused the Bangladesh government of running a 'profoundly compromised legal process'. His criticism comes as SQ Chowdhury, a leading figure in the opposition Bangladesh National Party (BNP) was found guilty in a trial that has been criticised by human rights organisations and international legal experts.

Lord Carlile also stated he was concerned by new allegations that SQ Chowdhury's judgment was prepared by the Ministry of Law and Parliamentary Affairs as far back as May 2013. This was before some of the witnesses in the case were even heard by the tribunal.

Lord Carlile's criticism also follows a strongly worded letter last week to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay. In that letter he noted that International legal and human rights campaigners have 'universally condemned' the Tribunal for its 'politically motivated sentencing that is fuelling unrest on the streets.' He also told the High Commissioner that 'International criminal justice must be enforced in a way that is not only complementary to national criminal jurisdictions, but also respectful of international human rights standards and international standards of procedure, fairness and transparency.

In a recent letter to Baronese Warsi, Lord Avery of British House of Lords wrote that he noted the death sentence passed on Abdul Qader Molla by Bangladesh Supreme Court on September 16, which had been originally a sentence to life imprisonment. Therefore, he thought that under the common law a person who had already been tried and sentenced, as he had been, cannot be tried again for the same offence, by the principle of autrefois convict.

Abdul Quader Mollah was convicted following a highly controversial trial in which the Presiding Judge was removed following the resignation of the disgraced Chairman as a consequence of the ‘Skypegate’ scandal. The defence were prevented from calling witnesses and the case was promptly closed by the Tribunal and rushed to judgment. Both the Tribunal and the Supreme Court have failed to apply the law as it stood in 1971 and took judicial notice of contentious facts that were not in evidence. The defence were also prevented on numerous occasions from having privileged communications with the accused. The countless defects in the trial process and the numerous errors in law were so severe that they invalidate the entire judgment and any conviction amount to a miscarriage of justice. It is deeply regrettable that the Supreme Court has failed to remedy these defects on appeal and has applied a law that is unconstitutional and in breach of international law.

The law as it stood at the time of conviction did not permit any prosecution appeal for a higher sentence. Yet the law was subsequently amended for the sole purpose of allowing retrospectively a prosecution appeal seeking the death penalty in Abdul Kader Mollah’s case. The amendment was passed following the PM’s remarkable statement in parliament, as a result of mass demonstrations on the streets of Dhaka that the tribunal judges should listen to ‘the sentiment of the people.

The defence also sought the recusal of two judges on the appeal. First, Justice Sinha was mentioned in the ‘Skypegate’ recordings as having promised the disgraced Tribunal Chairman a promotion if he convicted three accused before the end of 2012. Second, it was alleged that Justice Shamsuddin Chowdhury was appointed to the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court explicitly for the purpose of sitting on these appeals. The application for Justice Chowdhury’s recusal was based on his attendance at a number of Awami League meetings and having demonstrated clear bias. This defence application was not upheld and the appeal proceeded.

The trial process has been shown to be nothing short of a political show trial aimed at removing an Islamist Political Party, suppressing the opposition and securing the next election for the present Awami League Government.

The language of the trial judgment clearly demonstrates that it had little to do with individual criminal liability and more about demonising a political opponent.

What is clear from a number of damning disclosures by the international community and the media is the overwhelming evidence that reveals serious judicial and prosecutorial misconduct and the collusion of the Government with members of the judiciary and prosecution to bring about a desired result by convicting and executing leading members of Jamaat-e-Islami.

Coupled with the Government’s consistent pressure to ignore due process and deliver speedy convictions and prompt executions, the process has become a mockery of international law and undermines all major international instruments that protect fundamental human rights principles.

Conclusion:
The real motive behind the war Crime Tribunal is not removing stigma of the Nation, but it is politics at play. A divisive, fascist and a nonsense government is in full charge of the nation. There are a few things in common between both Sheikh Mujib and her daughter is that, none of them can tolerate other opinion, both have fascist thinking and both want power for life. They both break promises and lie, as we have seen how the spirit of liberation for ensuring social justice, human dignity, freedom and equality became oppression, tyranny, injustice, and one party rule as the norm. How 3 Lakhs became 3 million, and how innocent men became rapist, arsonist, and murderers. Sheikh Hasina not only breaks pledges and lies, but has the potential to destabilize the nation and unravel the delicate fabrics of the Bangladeshi democracy.

Sunday 6 October 2013

War crimes Tribunal is nothing more than Politics at play. We need to look at the distance past to understand the present. (Part Two)

In 2007, an Army backed caretaker government was formed after many national and international cospiracy’s and political drama’s that in sophistication had been unprecedented in the history of Bangladesh. To foreign countries, this part of Bangladesh had always been geo-politically very important since the time of Moguls rule in India. The British had been the first foreign country to establish direct rule in Bengal. This had been only possible because of some traitors that had sold their loyalty for the dream of power. But power never came to Mir Jafor Ali Khan, rather the opposite had happened. The British became the power and had ruled Bengal for two hundred years.

Army General Moin U Ahmed had originally conspired with foreign diplomats for consolidating power for himself. Prominent among them was the Amabasadors of India, The USA, and the UK. The most venomous and affective was the British High commissioner Mr. Anwar Chowdhury. He had local knowledge of Bangladeshi politics and knew the mind set of the politician, as he himself was originally from Bangladeshi District of Sylhet. There had been concerted effort by the Army led caretaker government to break BNP. Many of their leaders, including the Secretary General of the party had tried to minus the leadership and cooperated fully with the Army to realize the dream of the reformist. This scenerio was not exclusive to BNP, but  Awamileague also had a group of reformist that was actively working to that end.

But their plan couldn’t go far due to the resolve of one woman - Begum Khalida Zia. She would rather die than leave the country. She had to sacrifice her two sons physical health for democracy.

Her opponent, Sheikh Hasina, On the contarary, had agreed with the Army General to leave the country and she made her way to the USA, apparently to check her eye sight which had been on the verge of blindness. To this day, nothing had happened to her eyes, but she continue to rule Bangladesh with a clear blatant eye. Begum Zia refused to leave the country, and as result all conspiracy’s to minus the two ladys were foiled and, a date was finalised for the general  election to be held in 2008. All the major political partys of Bangladesh began to publish their manifesto. The Awamileague manifesto was full of new ideas, and wild promises that had an influence on the young voters of Bangladesh. Especially vision 2021, digital Bangladesh, and the promise to bring to justice all those who had committed war crimes during the war in 1971. Just a point to note here: Awamileague 2008 manifesto Anexure especially mentions the keeping of Caretaker Government, democracy and effective parliament. But Later Sheikh Hasina would go at extraordinary length to abolish Caretaker Government system from the constitution.

The war crimes issue to many young Bangladeshi who had not seen the independece war, but have heard from parents or history lessons was an emotional  issue. Awamileague leadership realized this weakness among the young and had used this issue in their 2008 election manifesto, although the issue had been closed by Sheikh Mujib, Sheikh Hasina revived it again to get support from the young voters, promising them initiation of war crime tribunal if they are voted in to power.

With the backing of the Army Gen Moin U Ahmed, Awamileague came to power winning  more than expected  number of seats in the National assembly. Many had suspected that Army General engineered a landslide for the Awamileague under a secret agreement with Sheikh Hasina in cooperation with India. Before the election and during the election Indian secret service had played a crucial role for Awamileague. They provided planning, and huge amount of money for ensuring an Awamileague victory. In return, Sheikh Hasina promised to give India transit and other economic favours and  facilities to the detriment of Bangladeshi national interest.

Sheikh Hasina wanted to take revenge on those Army officers who had killed her father Sheikh Mujib, and were waiting for the conclusion of the trial, and also to punish Jamat BNP, so that her fathers dream for one party rule ,for which he had been killed would be realized.

For this goal, she had to have a two third majority in the parliament to change the constitution, and that was gladly provided through election engineering by the Army. She also needed to eliminate officers in the army who were patriotic BNP jamat supporters, and had some sympathy for coup leaders of 1975. It is alleged that with the help of Indian secret service, and with the tacit approval of some traitors in the Army, General Moin U Ahmed arranged  secondment of the pro BNP Army officers to the BDR, and gathered them unarmed in Philkhana BDR headquarters to carry out a brutal massacre of brilliant officers of Bangladesh Army.

As planned, in broad day light, some BDR personnel with red facemask started killing the Army officers in the Darbar Hall where they had been gathered for briefing by their commander. Many of the officers had managed to escape their attackers from the Darbar Hall, and hid their selves in BDR headquaters, but no attempt had been taken from the government or the army to rescue them, eventually they were all hunted down by their attackers and killed.

This massacre was unprecedented in the history of Bangladesh, not even during the liberation war that many officers had died in one place at the same time. This massacre was carried out soon after Awamileague came to power. The truth of the Philkhana tragedy has been burried with those who had died there, and we may never find out the truth, as evidence had been destroyed by this government.

Once Sheikh Hasina’s major obstacle had been removed, she began a systematic secularisation and politicization of all the civil, military, police and judicial institution of the country. Some of the Army officers who had not been killed or were not on secondment were forcefully made to retire. Bangladesh was now fully under grip of Sheikh Hasina. She now had to elliminate her political opponent who were more daring or vocal to her rule, so a secret team of Killer 100 hundred were formed under Bangladeshi Prime Minister and her defence advisor Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Tarique Ahmed Siddiqui.

Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Tarique Ahmed Siddiqui maintains special connection with Indian RAW for decades, since he was in army service. Such relations of RAW with him were because of his family relations with Sheikh Hasina. When Bangladesh Awami League formed government in January 2009, Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Tarique Ahmed Siddiqui became extremely important in the government due to his official position as the defense advisor to the Bangladeshi Prime Minister as well as his personal identity of being the brother-in-law of Prime Minister’s younger sister Sheikh Rehana. The selection of the entire batch of ruling party cadres, who were sent to India for commando training were directly done by Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Tarique Ahmed Siddiqui and a few of his loyal colleagues and retired army officers, while on return of the members of the “Crusader-100” team from India, they were provided a hit list comprising names of opposition politicians, members of Bangladeshi media and some members of the civil society. According to information, the list contains names of more than 83 people; the members of these specially trained hitters were housed inside several buildings at Dhaka’s Gulshan and Baridhara areas. The Baridhara “bases” of the hitters were maintained directly by Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Tarique Ahmed Siddiqui and each of such places were equipped with sophisticated surveillance equipments as well as entry of civilians were restricted within these premises.

political secret killings and abduction took place with impunity, the most publicised and notable was the abduction  of Mr. M Elias Ali MP,  belonging to Bangladesh Nationalist Party. It is not known wheather Elias Ali is dead or alive, but many fears he had been killed by the killer 100 team. At the same time this was going on, Sheikh Hasina’s government concocted false cases against top Jamat leaders and had them arrested one by one, eventually to face war crimes charges at the ICT. Among them was the popular Islamic scholar and a leader of Bangladeshi Jamati Islam Maulana Delwar Hussain Sayeedi.

It is well documented that Maulana Delwar Hussain Sayeedi only joined Bangladeshi Jamati Islam in 1973. He was also a member of parliament elected from a Hindu dominated constituency of Piroj Pur. In spite of his background and none relation with war crimes, he was framed by the investigators with some other persons crime which he had never committed. He was made to assume the name Delwar Sikdar, a man who had committed war crimes and had been executed by its captors soon after the independece. Maulana Delwar Hussain Sayeedi was made to become the dead man  Dilu Razakar.

To be continued…
